EP 007 - The Designer Podcast - Summertime Trance

July, the best summer month. A perfect time for a summertime trance set, wouldn’t you say? The night I mixed this it was pretty warm out here in sunny Southern California. Must have been about 90 or 95 degrees. The sun was setting. As I listened to tracks that I wanted to use, it reminded me of the Comer House parties from a few years back, out in Riverside. It would be 2a.m., and still be 90 degrees. We’d be outside till all hours of the night, with a warm breeze blowing, while someone spun on the decks inside right in front of the air conditioner in the living room. Ah good times. Something about that temperature and the music just brought me back.

All the tracks featured here are upbeat, dancey and trancey! I started the set off with an old remake of an even older tune, Cruel Summer. Hey you can never go wrong with Bananarama! I also included some real barn-stormers in here that have been in the sets of all the top dj’s. “Off The World” by Martin Roth & Alex Bartlett with Gareth Emery on the remix, “Did We” by Sultan (a personal fav!) & Ned Shepard with Tyler Michaud remixing, the absolutely massive “Urban Touareg” by Airwave, and a huge huge HUGE summertime track by Envio called “For You” with The Blizzard remixing. I just had to reuse “Turn It On” by Woody van Eyden & Alex MORPH just because it’s such a fabulous feel-good summer trance track.

This mix really moves, so please enjoy the beats. I hope it gets you grooving! Have a fantastic summer.
